The new global headquarters of Chinese tech heavyweight Alibaba Group Holding Ltd has almost been completed and is expected to be put into operation in 2024, according to the company. Investing a total of 6.7 billion yuan ($939.3 million), the new site, which is located at the Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, covers an area of 980,000 square meters. Intelligent digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence and service robots will be applied in the new headquarters to enhance management and operation efficiency, Alibaba said. After the completion of the new head office, zone A of Alibaba's Xixi Park in Hangzhou might become the headquarters of its e-commerce businesses including Taobao and Tmall, while zone B will be built into an open park to better serve the upstream and downstream enterprises. |
